My Tour of Sugarloaf, Christ, and Santa Teresa is Available!
Posted in Activities, Rio de Janeiro, Travel Recommendations, World Cup 2014 on 16. Jun, 2010
Hi all,
First, my apologies to Ben Ellis and others. I shot lots of footage yesterday during the World Cup match between Brazil and North Korea, but due to some technical difficulties in trying to load the raw footage into iMovie this morning, the video isn’t yet available. Look for it in the next couple of days.
I did shoot lots of footage. Some of it was even of the game! Most, however, was the pre-party, the crowd, crowd reactions, and, since I couldn’t see much of the game itself on the outdoor screens erected on the beach, the bums of girls in the crowd. I trust that there will be no objections. If you want real coverage, visit ESPN or YouTube! If you want a sense of the fun, come back and see my post.
BUT, as it happens, I just received word that my tour of the Rio sights of Sugarloaf, Christ the Redeemer, and Santa Teresa is now available at VisualTravelTours.com. You can read a bit about my tour, which is the current featured tour (Way to go, John! Que maneiro!) by clicking here. To see a preview of the tour (and maybe even purchase a copy!), click here.
Annette Edwards, the Production Manager at VisualTravelTours, had this to say about the tour:
“It’s a wonderful tour – so full of great tips and history – I feel that it’s one of our best… Thank you!”
VisualTravelTours offers a unique product: Guided tours which are downloadable in a variety of formats. If you like a tour (for example, a tour of Rio perhaps!), you can download it to your computer, or iPod, or cell phone. Watch it before your trip to help you plan your itinerary. Then have it with you when you arrive, to help you get the most of what you are seeing.
Tours include lots of photos explained with professional narration. In this tour, I provided the photos and script, and a professional narrator reads the script, which you can listen to as your walk along. Very cool.
Here’s a shot from Santa Teresa. It’s a lovely hillside neighborhood near Downtown that most visitors to Rio overlook. Such a shame.
Hope to see you down here one day. But at least check back for the post about the World Cup.
Até breve, gente. Until soon, people.
John
